Rules.
1. Respect. Be respectful to other members at all times. Any issues with other members should be brought up to admins or moderators to handle. In addition, be respectful and do not post hate speech of any kind. Don't harass people. Don't make threads that are purposefully aggressive to try and incite anger or fights. No bullying. This is not an exhaustive list, so just conduct yourself appropriately.
-- Given the polarizing nature of certain aspects of the Dragon Age games and fandoms, please be considerate in what you post about these. Don't post character bashing or hate. Don't attack people for their in-game decisions. Any discussion threads about any DA-related topic that the admins/mods feel have turned into too much of a debate is subject to be locked. Be considerate.
-- Things said in outside channels (for example, im services like skype) are grounds for consequences on SFT if they involve other forum members or forum issues.
Content. Darker and more mature themes are inherent in the setting, and thus allowed. However, they must be within Proboards TOS. Assume roughly PG-13 or similar to canon levels. No explicit sex threads. Also be considerate: use spoiler tags for graphic, nsfw, or otherwise upsetting images is suggested. Adding "mature" as a warning in the title of graphic threads is suggested.
3. Images and art theft. Using faceclaims and screenshots for your character is acceptable. However, if you are using art, make sure it either belongs to you or you have permission to use it. You can't just pick some random Inquisitor OC and use a piece of artwork done for them for your OC without permission. In addition, don't beg, harass, or coerce artists into giving you art.
4. Accounts. You are allowed to have multiple accounts! Many people prefer to make separate accounts for each character. However, don't use multiple accounts to vote on polls; making "sock puppet" accounts (pretending to be someone else) and making accounts for the purpose of impersonating other users is not allowed.
5. Spamming. Don't spam (that is, post a high volume of nonsensical posts or advertisements that flood the forum, as one might expect from a bot).
Roleplay Rules.
1. Powerplaying/Godmodding. Don't control someone's character without their permission, don't make a super overpowered character, don't metagame (use OOC knowledge in IC, usually to your advantage.
2. IC=/=OOC. Sometimes characters are rude to each other IC, but members shouldn't take this as meaning other players dislike them. IC events are not a reason to be rude to someone OOCly, and OOC events are not a reason to be uncharacteristically rude or aggressive to a character ICly because of their player.
3. Fight Rules. Be respectful and willing to communicate. If you feel uncomfortable with the way a fight is being handled, or any thread, let an admin/mod know and they will step in. For now the Fight Rules are very basic, but if there are problems more guidelines will be added.
--Powerplaying/Godmodding. This is related to the earlier rule: you don't have control of your opponent's character Make sure you give your opponent a chance to react. Don't make your attacks hit instantly. You can't kill someone's character without their permission.
-- Thrill Killing. Don't go around attacking everyone you meet. Some characters are aggressive, but mods will step in if we feel your character is making rp unfair or unfun for others.
Consequences.
Punishment for breaking these rules depends on the severity of the offense, but can include: warnings, removal of canon characters, temporary bans, permanent bans.
These rules are subject to change at any time, for any reason. Major changes will be announced.
