PERSONALITY: Aurelius is known for his silver tongue coming before a knife in the throat. He's cunning, wily, and known as an effective cutthroat in the right circles. His charm and guile can veil his intent, but only for so long. Sooner or later, his bravado bubbles from his throat in guffaws and boasts, the sort that can easily be followed up on. Aurelius lives for one challenge after another, his personality commanding his pursuit of perfection. He makes for a decent spy, but a better swordsman, his sheer force of personality enough to make his opponent tremble and recoil. Those who impress him enough can find him at their side, as long as they continue to compel his curiosity. 

HISTORY: Aurelius appeared on the shores of Thedas as a young boy, picking pockets in Antiva. Impressed by the boastful swordsman he could find along the coast, he sought to follow and pursue their art, no matter the cost. Somehow, even as a boy, he had an unnatural charisma, a way to charm and compel almost anyone into doing as he liked. Manipulation, of course, draws concern, but the moment authorities and the powers behind them sought out the boy, he was gone. He later surfaced in Tevinter, this time much more audible in his presence. Rattling sabers and carving his way through the competition, Aurelius found a position with in Tevinter's criminal underworld, and vanished from the sight of civilization and society once more.

No one's sure what happened in the decade he lived in the shadows of the towers of Tevinter. Accounts, splendid and strange stories of experiments with blood magic, kidnapping the Black Divine without the Divine ever knowing it, and other tall tales of his time in Tevinter lack any real proof to follow them. What is known is that, after a time, he arrived in Val Royeaux, making a splash in the social scene. This time, he was all for the public eye, rising to Orlesian society's most respectful echelons as a duelist and a teacher, one of the most accomplished Val Royeaux has ever seen. But, after another few years, and a rough encounter with Orlesian law following the "murder" of a young Lord-to-be, Aurelius vanished into the shadows of the world once more. No one knows when or where he could appear again. Though, if he truly is chasing things to interest him, the Inquistion would be a smart bet, or even the forces now moving against the heroes of Skyhold...
