(The last name means noble and proud in swedish which I judged to be the place Tantervale is based on based on  the fact that tanter can be a swedish word and the head of the place is called high chancellor which sweden also had )

The Ice:



Harder then normal ice produced by frost mages, More durable, more beautiful, taking MUCH less mana from her, it’s temperature subject to her will. The Ice is unique to Astrid. A phenonenon that even Solas would not have seen before



One could say it destroyed her life.



For the first five years of her existance Astrid lived a fairytail The youngest child of the Adelstolt family of Tantervale she was sheltered from the harshness of the world and babied.



Then the magic came and all the sudden the little girl was faced with reality. given by her family to the Ostwick circle, as she saw it. abandoned and rejected. Something she will never forgive her family for.



It is a sad truth about child prodigies…



When faced with people with an extraordinary talent at a young age, Those who can function as an adult in their area people often stop seeing them as a child. Others are unsure when to treat them like a child and when to treat them like and adult.



Her talent quickly set her apart



Astrid did not mingle much with the other apprentices and it quickly became apparent that Ostwick was not equiped with those who could be her teachers. At the age of 7 Astrid was moved to the white spire.



At the unheard of age of 10 she passed her harrowing and became an enchanter



Astrid by now was starting to see the ice as herself. The ice was what people were interested in so she became the ice SHe had had access to some great teachers some of the best and ecelled in her studies Others had even tried to reaserch her. but it was the ice they were focused on not her



At 11 she met Politics


Astrid was transferred to Cumberland at the impressionable age of 11 This became a home of sorts. Astrid adored the library and slowly she became no longer a student. Astrid found herself most often interacting those who called for mage freedom. Mage freedom became something she would spout as a child often spouts their parents belifs. She is dedicated to the cause. But not because she has truely formed her own opnion



Then War came



Astrid was 16 when she became a soldior. Not just any soldior. A weapon. The ice became one of the mage’s best weapons and the girl who weilded it one of the templar’s greatest terrors. She has seen the horror of death. She has seen comrades die. And she was one of the greatest killers of the war. All at 16.

That was one year ago

The now 17 year old was sent to the conclave to try to protect the mages. However a sprained ankle ended up slowing her up enough that the explosion happened without her yet present

Note: I am aware that Astrid if written wrong could be a bit of a sue. One of the things I like doing with Characters is taking a trait or two that could be sueish and putting them into a character and then exploring the downsides of said traits and how they might effect the psyche
