NAME:
Sabina Flavius
GENDER:
Female
RACE:
Human
CLASS:
Mage - Arcane Warrior, Blood Magic; some abilities in Force and Elemental Magic
NATIONALITY: Tevene
AFFILIATION: Undecided, though she has a growing curiosity regarding the Venatori
PERSONALITY:
-outwardly fearless, under the impression that keeping up that act has helped her to overcome her own fears internally as well. thus far, it seems to have worked well enough.
-sadomasochist - if it can result in her own harm, she's game. if it results in someone else's, she's much more excited. that said, she doesn't walk around every day looking for a fight... but if she finds one? well, she can fit it into her schedule.
-she has a thing for fire and burning stuff.
-has a savage, primal air about her when it comes to interaction with enemies. it's partially a method to intimidate them - similarly to her use of facial decoration - but also because few things get her blood flowing like the complete release she obtains when she throws regard to the wind. her magic is more instinctive than tactical.
HISTORY:
Bits and pieces of her past have become blank spaces; she allowed herself to be the test subject of various dangerous tests that were aimed at enhancing her abilities both in and out of combat. As a result of such testing, her personality has also likely been altered - however, given her younger-than-average age at the time, it is hard to say how she would have developed without such interference. Prior to becoming a test subject, she had been born to a mage mother, who had not survived long after birthing her. Her father had been a slave, and (although Sabina wouldn't know this) for the sake of protecting what relationship they had, and to not appear weak or soft her mother had him executed.
"Tests" had been a term used loosely by the magisters - they were aware of her father's status and with her mother's death they had treated her as slave fodder. Blood magic was used to warm her mind and thought process, pushing the limits of what they were able to do with that. However, when they learned that she had magic in her blood, they focused less on trying to alter her mind, and more on enhancing her connection to the Fade. The damage from their prior magic had been done, however, which resulted in very haphazard tendencies on her part - it put her in perilous situations many times, but with nothing to hold her back, she rarely faltered in them. This, they decided, had been an overall success.
Perhaps because of the experimentation, or perhaps simply because she has wrought herself through the use of extreme and often times dangerous magic, she tends to be rather unreasonable. Sabina will set her mind to whatever task is assigned to her and, come hell or high water, she will complete it unless something more promising has been presented. She is also prone to abruptly snapping. This is most likely to happen in the heat of battle, and caution is promptly thrown to the wind when it does. There is no fear of ruining her body or herself in any other ways when she has entered such a state of mind. Luckily - sort of - she has been working on coping with that so it is not quite as disastrous.
Overall, though, Sabina has come to terms with the idea that many pieces of her life have been forgotten, whatever the reason - she has learned to live in the present and focus on the future and what may come. She will learn from the mistakes she might remember, but beyond that she's decided the details are of little importance. She has become a tool in battle, and outside of it she simply hopes to improve herself for the next time.
APPEARANCE:
FC - Lee Ann Liebenberg as Viper
Her face and body are both decorated in tattoos which she decided were necessary to be more physically intimidating. She has also allowed her hair - which is naturally a reddish hue, though she has found a mixture of herbs and berries that darken it until the next wash (essentially a temporary dye) - to grow wild for the same purpose.
Overall, her plan was to obtain an appearance that was as far from "tame" as she could manage, and with the visual additions to her body as well as dark, worn clothing, she has been rather successful in that.
